Mike Murman, 53, bought an 80-acre farm at a land auction in 2003 and started planting vines to see which grapes would grow best in the area. Relying solely on his past experience of making homemade wine and beer, Murman and his sons, Tim, John and Craig, started learning the commercial wine business -- from the roots up.
